The Children's Health Advocates in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation

About

Mission
The Children’s Health Advocates (CHA) aims to promote the importance of collaborative efforts in healthcare by fostering engagement between university students and community organizations such as the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (ACHF), Children’s Cottage Society (CCS), CP Kids & Families, and Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK).

Description
As the 2024–2025 SU Club of the Year, the Children’s Health Advocates is a student-led organization committed to raising funds and encouraging participation in initiatives that support child health and wellbeing. Each year, over 94,000 children and families rely on the Alberta Children’s Hospital for specialized care. CHA proudly partners with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to advocate for excellence in pediatric health, research, and family-centered care—funding life-saving equipment, enhanced treatments, and innovative research. We are recognized by the Foundation as a group of passionate student advocates dedicated to advancing its mission.

Beyond our hospital-centered efforts, CHA is also devoted to sparking critical conversations on pediatric care, organizing volunteer opportunities, and leading fundraising events that support organizations such as BB4CK, the Alberta Red Cross, and the University of Calgary Child Care Centre. Through strategic partnerships with other student clubs, we strive to host engaging, meaningful events that create a positive impact both on campus and in the wider community.
